Once upon a time, in a twist of fate—and maybe a touch of cluelessness — Angelique and Willé spent their entire school years in the same spaces. Same primary school? Check. Same high school? Absolutely. Even the same coaches. And yet, not one single "hello." They were two ships sailing through classrooms, sports fields, and hallways, but somehow never colliding.
Fast forward to life after school. Willé's eyes finally landed on Angelique at the local gym, where she happened to work as a receptionist, and where he was valiantly attempting to work out. And just like that, he realized what a golden opportunity he'd been missing. So, naturally, he asked for her phone number. And naturally... she said no.
But Willé wasn't one to be deterred. He asked again, and this time, Angelique gave him her number. And that, my friends, is where the history began.
On May 31, 2019, Willé made the first of his best decisions: he asked her out. From there, it was happy days, ridiculously happy days, and then unbelievably happy days. Nearly five years later, in a flash of brilliance, he made his second best decision: he asked her to marry him. And lucky for him, she said yes.

Willé had been planning the perfect proposal for months, ensuring Angelique wouldn’t suspect a thing. The day before, he cleverly arranged she get her nails done, saying he wanted to have a dress-up picnic at home and take cute Instax photos together. Trusting his sweet idea, Angelique happily agreed, never guessing what was in store.
On the big day, Willé packed a picnic basket and led Angelique to a scenic spot on the plot where she lives. Pretending to scout for the “perfect place” for their photos, he took his time, adding to the suspense. After a few moments, he suddenly announced, “Our ride is here.” To Angelique’s astonishment, a helicopter descended onto the field.
They soared over the breathtaking Hartbeespoort Dam and landed in the serene Magalies mountains. As Angelique admired the view, Willé knelt behind her and asked softly, “Angelique, sal jy my die eer gee om met jou te trou?” (Will you give me the honor of marrying you?). Overwhelmed with emotion, she said yes.
They celebrated with champagne, savoring their picnic in the picturesque landscape. When the magical day ended, the helicopter returned them to the plot, landing where their adventure began. Back home, they relived the day, filled with joy, knowing they’d created a memory to treasure forever.
